EVE Tech Asia attended the 1st ASEAN Battery & Electric Vehicle Technology Conference (ABEVTC) to enhance growth for Battery industry for SEA community

May 9 - 11, EVE Tech Asia 2023 attended the 1st ASEAN Battery & Electric Vehicle Technology Conference commences in Bali, supported by HIOKI SINGAPORE PTE. LTD. The inaugural event underlines the MOU signing between the Singapore Battery Consortium (SBC), the National Center for Sustainable Transportation Technology (NCSTT) from Indonesia, and Thailand Energy Storage Technology Association (TESTA), the National Battery Research Institute (NBRI) (Indonesia), NanoMalaysia Berhad and Electric Vehicle Association of the Philippines (EVAP). 

On a broader scale, the signed MOU between leading associations of EV and Battery technology fosters knowledge exchange for professionals within Southeast Asia. This inaugural collaboration also boosts business strategies between key players to boost EV and Battery manufacturing and production in the ASEAN community.

ABEVTC connects C-level professionals, global institutions, engineers and professionals to form strategic business opportunities, knowledge exchange and networking opportunities in the Battery field in SEA. The overall goal is to create a vibrant Battery and Electric Vehicle Technology ecosystem with mutual support from nations from the SEA community. EVE Tech Asia 2023 was warmly welcomed and had a great time connecting with other ambitious professionals who shared the same goal of making Southeast Asia the leading hub of the EV and Battery ecosystem.

The three-days conference includes presentation, roundtable panel discussion, industry expert sharing and breakout sessions. The key topics were battery swapping technology, EV charging, energy storage systems and safety regulation. In particular, battery swapping was discussed as a potential solution for mass adoption of electric 2-wheelers in densely populated SEA countries. These topics match with EVE Tech Asia 2023’s focus on promoting electric 2-wheelers for the SEA market and are tentatively included in EVE Tech Asia’s agenda.

More notably,  the Singapore Battery Consortium will host the 2nd Conference in 2024, bringing professionals to the promising landscape of Electric Vehicle, Environmental Technologies and Battery industry in Singapore.  Dr.Sing Yang Chiam presented “EV and Battery eco-system in ASEAN + Singapore, where he introduced battery innovation in Singapore and encouraged the wide ASEAN community to act together as an economic zone to boost battery production and adoption.
